The knowledge test: sixty questions, two hours, seventy percent

That leaves eighteen you can get wrong [PART107-F12][PART107-F14]. It also leaves two minutes per question, which is generous for this material [PART107-F12][PART107-F13].
Each item is multiple choice with exactly one right answer [PART107-F15]. There is no written section and no practical test [PART107-F04].
What it weighs
The FAA publishes bands rather than fixed counts [PART107-F16]. Operations gets the widest one, at thirty-five to forty-five percent [PART107-F16].
Regulations and airspace each sit at fifteen to twenty-five percent [PART107-F16]. Weather takes eleven to sixteen, and loading and performance seven to eleven [PART107-F16].
Read that as a study budget. Roughly two questions in five come from operations [PART107-F16].
The regulation itself names the syllabus [PART107-F10]. It opens with the rules, airspace, weather, loading and emergency procedures [PART107-F10].
Sitting it
You may take the test at fourteen [PART107-F17]. You cannot hold the certificate until sixteen [PART107-F03].
So the paper can be behind you two years before the credential is available [PART107-F03][PART107-F17].
Bring identification [PART107-F09]. It is checked when you apply at the centre, not afterwards [PART107-F09].
A pass is good for twenty-four calendar months when you apply [PART107-F18]. Apply inside that window or sit it again [PART107-F18].
If it goes badly
A failure locks you out for fourteen calendar days [PART107-F07]. There is no endorsement to collect and no waiting list beyond that [PART107-F07].
Fourteen days is short enough that a failure costs you a fortnight, not a season. Treat it as expensive but survivable.

The certificate has a floor of sixteen years of age, and the applicant must read, speak, write and understand English.

The knowledge test runs to 60 questions.
